Based on a legend from the Punjab, a region between India and Pakistan. This story came to the west in Andrew Lang's collection: The Olive Fairy Book. It is the story of two sisters, one a traditional princess, the other a smart, independent capitalist! Approximately 12" tall, this doll is both sisters. As with all of my dolls, this is my own copyrighted pattern. She comes with her story in a small, handmade book.
